I am excited to serve the dynamic and diverse organic community in the prairies and to share in the vision of the Organic Agriculture Centre. My responsibilities include building a network among researchers, farmers and extension specialists; facilitating the flow of information; and encouraging and participating in research in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

I am a child of the prairies - born in Alberta, and raised in Saskatchewan. The prairie landscape is a part of me. It wasn't until I went away to school that I realized how important the land and the sky are to me. As a student of weed ecology, I have studied interactions, relationships, and communities. In organic agriculture I found people who cared passionately about their relationship with the earth; I have always felt at home in this community. I hope to use my scientific expertise to further our understanding of how we relate to the land.

My professional history includes conducting research in weed populations and weed communities, writing about weed management for production manuals, journals and technical reports, interpreting scientific research for organic farmers through extension presentations and development of web materials; and a full range of teaching responsibilities. I am grateful for the many farmers, students and researchers who have shared so generously with me. I am passionate about teaching, and developing respectful relationships among research partners. I look forward to collaborating with farmers and other researchers to explore a variety of our interests together.
