Harvest has come and gone on our farm. Our wheat turned out really well for us. It yielded well, approximately 35 bushels to the acre and the quality was excellent. The flax however was a disappointment. It was such a nice clean crop with a good plant stand, but the combination of dry weather and excessive heat took it's toll on the newly broke alfalfa ground. I doubt it will make 10 bushels to the acre, compared with what we would normally hope for of about 15 to 20. The upside is that the price of flax is up so that will help make up for some of the shortfall.
