For beetle control, the product Surround TM WP was tested against an organic canola spray and an unsprayed treatment. The Surround was applied to the plants with a backpack sprayer three times after emergence, and produced a barrier of kaolin clay that makes the leaves less attractive to the beetle. Preliminary results showed fewer beetles in the Surround-treated plots. This product may be a good control measure for striped cucumber beetle, especially early in the season when the plants are small.
