OACC Brookside Field Site – Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC)Truro, Nova Scotia OACC Field Day 2006
White lupin: White lupin has a protein content of close to 38% and does not need to be roasted. This makes it competitive with soybean as a feed crop. We have had problems with the seed-borne disease anthracnose in our field scale planting of lupin this year. While seeding heavy helps to compete with weeds, it also promotes disease as there is less air flow through the crop. Heavy seeding rates may also lead to crop lodging.
