Dr. Peter Hicklenton, P.Ag.
I
am the national science director responsible for crop production system
research with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
My work includes working with research teams across Canada involved
in both conventional and organic system research. I hang my hat at the
Atlantic Food and Horticulture Research Centre in Kentville Nova Scotia,
and I share management responsibilities for that Centre and AAFC's cereal
research centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
My most recent research activities have been involved with berry crop
physiology, but I have also worked extensively in greenhouse floriculture
and vegetable production, and with ornamental nursery crops.
In my spare time, I tend a small raspberry patch, and a few other fruit
bushes that produce just about enough income to support some local 'good
cause' fundraising!
