
Manitoba Farm Family for 2007 - The Boulangers of Hartney

River Exhibition Association's 2007 Farm Family of the Year is the Gaston
and Nicole Boulanger family of Hartney, Manitoba. Partners in the farm
operation are three sons: Marc and his wife Lindsay, Adam and his wife
Christiane, and Daniel.
The Boulanger’s have three individual farms that they run together
as a family unit and all four children continue to have involvement
with the farm operation.
Starting Organic Food production in 2000, their total farm operation
is now “Certified Organic” through the Organic Producers
Association of Manitoba. Their farms consist of 2660 acres of improved
land, including 660 acres of improved pasture and hay. They have a certified
organic beef herd of 180 cow – calf pairs and eight herd bulls.
